Envy may not be one of the world’s modern sins, but we can still tell Robbie it’s not a good way to be.
Robbie Williams has admitted he envies world-famous boy-band One Direction.
The 28-year-old has been performing a strong of solo comeback gigs as his new single ‘Candy’ hits the UK top ten hits chart.
However, the star told Radio 1 that he wishes he was in One Direction’s shoes.
“I’m jealous of them and I wish I was doing it all with them,” the new dad told DJ Greg James.
Robbie’s wife Ayda gave birth to their daughter Theodora Rose Williams this week, but the couple have announced they will call her ‘Teddy’.
Robbie and his wife Ayda now have a beautiful daughter, Teddy.
Robbie said he’s met the boys once and was unhappy with the way the press described their meeting.
“I’ve met all the boys, but it was a long time ago. I am quoted as saying, ‘Robbie Williams slammed One Direction. Robbie Williams had a go at One Direction’. I really didn’t – I love the boys.”
The Take That star added; “I’m looking forward to seeing where the road takes them for many years to come I hope. They do perform like they’ve never met each other and there’s a certain charm to that too. It’s brilliant.”
His comments came as One Direction’s two-year earnings were revealed today.
