Dublin based youth music station SPIN 1038 helped to surprise three Irish families in the best possible way this week when their beloved daughters flew home from Australia earlier than planned.
Childhood friends, Michelle, Aoife and Christine have been living Down Under for the past year, and contacted the radio station a few weeks ago a special request to help make the arrival a huge surprise, saying: “Being away from home has been extremely hard and we all miss our families so much. We’ve saved really hard to make it home so we want to make it as special as possible!”
DJ Steve K, who presents the show SPIN Hits on the station, phoned the girls’ mothers and explained that they could help their daughters win a trip home by playing a game. The odds were stacked against them with some ridiculously hard questions, but it all worked out ok in the end.
This is simply lovely.
