PICS: Ireland’s 2 Favourite Things Combine… ​Aurora Borealis And The GAA

At the end of February the Northern Lights were visible in various parts of the country and so photographer Oliver Hegarty headed out to see what he could capture. 

Alongside Fionntán McCarry and John McBride, Oliver travelled to Fair Head in Co. Antrim to shoot Aurora Borealis in all its glory.

The Northern Lights is due to electronically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere and creates this magical scene.

The lads spent two hours on the cliffside of the North East corner of Ireland and the results are pretty impressive.
