Hard luck.
Dancing With The Stars is already facing its first obstacle of 2022 as Love Island’s Matthew MacNabb has tested positive for Covid-19.
Only hours after it had been announced that he was set to pair up with dancing pro Laura Nolan, the reality TV star has been forced to full out of the show’s opening due to his test result.
The Co Down native broke the news on his social media but the video has since been deleted.
It showed the 29 year old working out by himself in his apartment, telling fans: “COVID positive. Home workouts it is.”
Thankfully it seems that Matthew isn’t too sick from the virus and will be back in shape in no time, confirming to one fan: “[It’s] not ideal but I’m all good. I am but delayed by a week.”

RTÉ has since confirmed the news to the Irish Daily Star, saying: “Matthew is now self-isolating following Government guidelines.
“While Matthew will not be taking part in Dancing With The Stars this weekend, protocol means that all being well, he will perform on show two.”
Despite Matthew’s setback, the show must go on with stars like Grainne Seoige, news anchor Aengus Mac Grianna, Paralympian Ellen Keane, Comedian Neil Delamare, singer Erica-Cody, and Ronan Keating’s daughter Missy all heading for the dancefloor.
Novelist Cathy Kelly, Aslan’s Billy McGuinness, jockey Nina Carberry, rugby star Jordan Conway, and cyclist Nicholas Roche are also set to appear in the new series.
Dancing With The Stars returns on 9 January on RTÉ One at 6.30pm.
