A photographer has started a photo collection showcasing black dogs who have a harder time getting adopted than other dogs.
Fred Levy has snapped Black Dogs Projects after discussions with workers in the pet industry and at animal shelters claimed that black dogs find it most difficult to find adoptive homes.
The series of shots show the dark canine companions set against black backdrops, and now Levy is looking for submissions to the project.
Introducing the collection, he wrote on his website:
“Using social media, I’ve been recruiting local dog owners who have black dogs to photograph. It’s an amazing journey that will hopefully become a book.”
We’re not sure how these loveable creatures could ever be the black sheep (or dog) of the shelter.
