If you’re picking up Vogue’s September issue this month you may notice a certain familiar county featured in one of their sections.

The beauty of Co Kerry’s landscape has been heavily included in the top fashion magazine’s issue, with Tourism Ireland describing its inclusion as “invaluable publicity.”

The feature, that spans nine pages, was shot by world-famous photographer Annie Leibovitz and showcases scenic locations in Killarney, the Ring of Kerry and even a few animals.

Titled “Wild Irish Rose”, the fashion shoot stars Daria Werbowy, a Polish-born Ukrainian model and Girls actor Adam Driver. Daria lives in Cork for part of her year.

Famous fashion editor Grace Coddington was in charge of the shoot and the Vogue team stayed in Killarney’s famous Aghadoe Heights during the shoot.

“Publicity is a very powerful tool in marketing the island of Ireland overseas and as American Vogue has an audience of more than 11m readers, this type of positive exposure is invaluable” said Tourism Ireland’s head of North America, Alison Metcalfe.

“The shoot showcases Ireland’s dramatic beauty to potential holiday-makers and helps to position Ireland as a highly desirable and fashionable place to visit on holiday.”
