As the winter weather creeps in on us, our thoughts have turned to cosy knits, warm fires and winter coats. And when it comes to divine knitwear, you don’t get any better than a Lucy Nagle original.
The Irish designer first launched a hangbag line last year, after almost a decade spent working in interior design in London. Earlier this year, Lucy added to her stable a collection of ready to wear knitwear for women, inspired by her own love of cashmere.

You may have read on these pages last month about Irish Designers Create in Brown Thomas, where Lucy was one of this year’s featured designers. As part of the exhibition, Lucy’s wares were due to be displayed until the end of September. So positive was the reaction to her clothes, however, that now Lucy’s knitwear will continue to be stocked in the prestigious store.

The brand ethos is based on creating elegant yet comfortable clothing which will suit women of all ages. It features a selection of cardigans and sweaters, made with the finest cashmere and wool fabrics from Inner Mongolia. Lucy has created a versatile range with a mix of casual and dressy pieces, and has introduced lurex to two of the styles for a metallic glamour twist we love.

Lucy plans to expand her collection for 2014 to menswear and childrenswear, but for now it’s all about the ladies. Get in there while you can!
