Serbian stunner Andreja Pejic has made her debut appearance as a woman on the catwalk, taking to the runway at Giles Deacon’s London Fashion Week Show.
The 23-year old model, who underwent gender reassignment surgery in early 2014, took to Instagram to thank the designer for the opportunity to make her model debut following the surgery:
“It feels amazing to be making my runway debut for one of my favorite British designers #Giles
Thank you to @kegrand and @guineapiggiles #thereturn #LFW”
Pejic stormed the catwalk in a high-collared Victorian collar shirt, and an oversized black satin coat.
The model also shared snaps with Kendall Jenner before she took to the stage, posting to her Instagram:
“Backstage ki-ki #LFW @kendalljenner #Giles”
Pejic’s strong androgynous look bagged the model gigs modelling both male and female collections – including looks for designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs.
Having always been open about her desire to transition to a woman, the beauty told Style.com:
“But it wasn’t possible at the time, and I put it off, and androgyny became a way of expressing my femininity without having to explain myself to people too much.”
She is now expected to take to the catwalk for Milan Fashion Week later this week.
