Whether you wear them every day to work, or only ever whip them out for a family wedding, they have always been a style staple.
The simple but addictive ‘100 years of X’ videos have become popular in recent years with versions covering the evolution nail trends, makeup looks, engagement rings and even Halloween costumes over a century.
Over a century the basic shape and style of high heels haven’t changed hugely but the actual heel of the shoes do get noticeably thinner (or the platform gets thicker) as time goes on.
The video was made by Mode and was created exclusively for Elle.com. It has received over 1 million views since it was released on Wednesday which thousands of comments over what type of 100 years video should be done next.
