Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up buying a bargain without ever stopping to think how it’s feasible for a shop to sell something so cheap. Do you ever stop and wonder where the item has come from and how some retailers can afford to mass produce their items at such a low price?

Fairtrade Ireland is a brilliant initiative that is trying to get retailers to use Fairtrade materials, specifically cotton which is sometimes being sold by farmers in developing countries for less than it actually takes the farmer to grow it.

Thankfully, lots of high-street stores are now promoting the use of Fairtrade cotton including Topshop, ASOS and Warehouse so you really have no excuse!
