Fashionistas, you could be sitting FROW this weekend as Limerick’s summer festival RIVERFEST kicks off with Fashion Friday.

If you’re looking for something to do for the Bank Holiday weekend, Limerick promises to keep the fash-pack happy.

The festival will host three fashion extravaganzas featuring some of the city’s top boutiques and Limerick students’ style creativity this Friday, May 3rd. And they’re all absolutely FREE.

Fashion stylist Celia Holman Lee said they’re reviving the tradition of visiting Limerick City to go shopping and meeting your friends for coffee, making it a day event.

“There used to be a lovely tradition in Limerick when women would come into the city centre on Fridays, meet for a coffee and go shopping,” said Celia.

“We have revived this tradition over the past few years by holding an event like Fashion Friday for Riverfest and it has become a tremendous success.

“It’s also an opportunity for everyone to enjoy themselves and to see the fantastic fashion that’s available in Limerick city stores.

“It’s the start of the May Bank Holiday and Riverfest weekend so we’re hoping that lots of women will come into Limerick for the festivities, enjoy the fashion, the atmosphere and the jazz!” added Celia.

Thomas Street will bring the best of the SS13 collections to the Thomas Street runway for fashion shows set to kickstart at 1.15pm and 4.30pm.

Secondary school students will showcase their creativity at 3pm as stylish spectacle Junk Kouture takes to the stage.

Junk Kouture is a national competition where students create high-end couture from everyday junk… definitely one to be seen.
