Ones To Watch: Upcoming Irish Fashion Designers

Cathy Donohue

The Irish fashion scene has made quite a name for itself in recent years; every year we see talent breaking the mould here at home or venturing further afield to gain inspiration for their work.

There are milliners, shoe designers and those who create beautifully stunning separates… the Irish fashion industry is growing all the time.

Ireland is starting to gain style recognition internationally and with credible designers of such high calibre, it’s little surprise.

With that in mind, here are some of the designers we expect to hear more of in 2014.

House of Horgan

The talented Mr Horgan is currently in college, studying for a BA in fashion design but has already designed and shown two collections FC2013 (first collection 2013) and his SS14 collection. Colin Horgan has worked extensively with Scandinavian fashion designers including Johanna Phil and David Andersen. Featuring laser cut pieces, monochrome colour palettes and tough fabrics such as leather; Colin is creating strong and unique items.
