Milan Fashion Week came to a close on Tuesday and the Italian style capital dazzled us with the style for next season.
Following in the footsteps of New York and London, Milan has been showing us what’s hot for spring summer ’14. Chic, elegant and luxurious… we want all of the clothes now. Before you ask, yes we are completely ignoring the fact it’s raining cats and dogs outside.
Jil Sander
This designer can be relied on to produce a stunning but entirely wearable collection, a difficult feat for anyone to accomplish. Shiny maxi skirts, scooped fronts and cut away dresses were just some of the featured pieces showing minimalism at its best. Metallics layered over whites and monochromes paired with prints formed a stylish yet exciting line. Clean lines and expensive cuts are signature signs of Sander’s collections and we just love.
Fendi
2013 is Karl Lagerfield’s 48th year with the brand and this year he was joined by a fellow designer, Delfina Delletrez, Silvia Fendi’s jewellery designer daughter. It’s no surprise then that jewellery was a huge feature of this collection, laser-cut organzas in coral and sapphire were inserted into shift dresses and tunics. Jewel colours and stunning details make it a truly covetable line. Party dress personified… we don’t think it’s possible to create prettier pieces.
Fausto Puglisi
This collection offers something a little different from the pared back visions of the other shows. Fausto spent years working with musicians and his latest line is inspired by Guns N’ Roses and LA. He presented biker jackets featuring panels of strapping worn over bondage-bras and flared skirts. Tropical prints, tangerine and electric blue have us thinking of summer holidays already. With designs like these, Puglisi is set to become a household name before long.
