Whatever about statement hero pieces, it’s the staple items that are essential for your everyday wardrobe.
They are what you might term ‘the bread and butter’ of your day to day look, Monday to Friday, and of course, the high-street is our first port of call when it comes to this type of shopping.
As it’s January, we’re doing our best to budget, but not shopping at all is a pretty grim situation too.
There are the sales, which have actually featured some serious discounts this year and there’s Penneys, our go-to haunt for bargain, trend-led looks.
As I’ve mentioned previously, bell sleeves are absolutely key this season and long-sleeved tees featuring this trend (and the criss-cross detail that was big last year) have just landed in store.
They’re only eight euro and you can choose from a number of styles including nautical stripes and basic black.
If you’d rather keep it simple and sort out your outfit with one piece, there’s also bell-sleeved cotton dresses and they’re priced at €13.
Both of these items are the type of pieces you’ll mix and match easily and they’re just SO easy to wear.
I’m off to stock up because comfy casual dressing is what I’m all about at the moment (partly due to a nasty knee injury but that’s a whole other story).
