Okay, so the Irish summer has pretty much been a washout since it began but you have to admit we’ve had a fair bit of sunshine since we’ve entered the dog days of summer.
Here in the Her.ie offices, we firmly believe that a little bit of positivity doesn’t cost a thing so we’ve chosen to be blindly optimistic that the weather will pick up a bit in the coming weeks and maybe, just maybe, it’ll get warm enough so we can ditch our jackets and soak up some sunshine.
We’re visualising clear blue skies, warm weather and bright, bright days! And what does a girl need most for these blindingly bright days? A good pair of sunglasses, naturally.

Channel Lana del Rey with these super sleek cat-eye sunglasses from River Island. The neutral colour means that they’ll go with practically anything and we love the way the tint in the lenses gradually fades away to clear. These bad boys would look great with a white 70s-style bikini and some chunky gold bling. We love them!

When it comes to sunglasses, the cat-eye trend is absolutely massive this season, and we can see why. Cat-eye glasses are not only flattering, they’re just effortlessly chic.
