Here’s five of the hottest trends and how you can achieve a stylish look on a shoestring.
The baroque trend is all about opulence, embroidery and OTT embellishment that makes for more expensive clothes. But you can get the look for less by loading on the costume jewellery. Think chandelier earrings, statement necklaces and chunky cocktail rings. The best shops to pick up bargain bling are Penneys, ASOS and Forever 21.
The colour oxblood ruled the autumn/winter runways but luckily for us it’s showed up on the high street too. Look on-trend by mixing this luxe, berry shade into your new season look and work a retro vibe by wearing this hot hue with your camel coat from last winter and tan ankle boots.

Designers Erdem and Peter Pilotto went mad for blooms while Kenzo and Prada led the geometric print brigade. You’ll find loads of affordable prints on the high street or look out for unique prints in local vintage shops. Remember if you find a great one-of-a-kind pattern don’t be put off by the style as skirts and dresses can always be taken up to give them a more contemporary look. And if you’re brave enough the latest way to wear print is head-to-heel. Avoid looking like a (crazy!) bag lady by keeping the colour palettes in the same tone or try pairing stripes with a floral print for a modern mix.

A collar is an easy peasy way to jazz up an outfit. And we really do mean any outfit: shirts, dresses, T-shirts and jumpers – it all works! Topshop, ASOS and Zara are doing the best designs or get creative and make your own DIY version for something totally unique.
Party season is here so as natural magpies we’re being drawn to all things sparkly. Pick up glittery goodies on the high street to add glitz and nighttime pizazz to your outfit even if it is last year’s tired LBD. Adding glamorous accessories will ensure you’re the belle of the ball!
So there you have it ladies, looking fashionable on a budget is all about shopping smart because remember money doesn’t buy style instead it’s all in the way you wear it that will make you stand out from the fashion crowd.
