Fashion lovers are awaiting Wes Gordon’s spring ’14 collection with bated breath; it will debut on Tuesday 10th September as part of New York Fashion Week.

Background

Wes was born in Illinois, Chicago and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. The grace and romance of the South inspired him and he developed a keen interest in high fashion. Central Saint Martin’s University of Art and Design in London was his college of choice, allowing him to combine fashion with fine art. He is especially interested in the way clothes can transform people and enjoys helping people express themselves through style.

Making It Big

Wes had a vision from a young age and instead of lazy college summers spent partying, he spent the time interning with two of the biggest names in the industry, Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford. This taught him the art of familiarising himself with the woman he is dressing, a lesson that has stood to him over time.

By The Numbers

2009 was a defining year for this designer, it was the year he finished college but it was also the year he launched his self-named line of women’s wear. It was immediately snapped up by powerful department stores Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue…Wes Gordon’s name was officially on the fashion radar. 2010 saw more stores come on board including Bergdorf Goodman and Kirna Zâbete. Fast forward to 2013 and Wes is one of the fashion world’s most influential designers.

Wes Says

Mr Gordon supports domestic production and is proud to say that his garments are produced in New York’s City Garment District. His designs are the epitome of luxury, portraying elegant sophistication in an understated manner. Expensive fabrics and haute couture detailing are the hallmarks of his work, allowing an aura of feminine mystery for those lucky enough to afford his designs.
