Like New York designer Donna Karan, Mara Hoffman attended Parsons School of Design in New York City. She also studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London which can boast of schooling other fashion greats including Christopher Kane, Wes Gordon and Mary Katzantrou. Mara’s impressive credentials are reflected in the intricate detailing and vivid prints of her designs.

Mara’s earlier work focused on hand-dyed couture pieces but her latest collection concentrates heavily on original silk prints. Mara is a diverse designer, from swimwear to cashmere coats, her collections offer everything you could possibly want in a wide range of colours and designs.

A number of retailers also stock her designs including Henri Bendel in New York City and Holt Renfrew in Canada. The designer counts nature, travel and fantasy among her inspirations.

A popular part of Mara’s line is swimwear and she is delighted to show at New York Fashion Week. “I try to incorporate a few swim pieces in our spring show in New York, but there’s really nothing else out there for swim designers like Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.”
