We look forward to fashion week street style nearly as much as the shows themselves and the first city on the bill of the big four never fails to disappoint.
From the models off-duty to the perfectly groomed and glossy fashion editors, NYC street style is polished, preened and bursting with designer labels and the latest Spring Summer trends we can look forward to.
But, one hot-off-the-runway look we weren’t expecting to see was the slightly ridiculous and more than a little impractical Chanel hula hoop bag that Karl debuted on the runway last September.
We know it’s Chanel but it just looks ridiculous… and we hardly ever use that word to describe anything to do fashion.
So, who would do you think is most likely to sport the unusual arm candy? Someone like Anna Dello Russo, Tavi or some other attention-seeking, child blogger?
If you guessed any of these, you’d be wrong because the bag was worn by the male accessories editor of US Marie Claire Kyle Anderson.

Teaming the oversized holdall with a black fur coat and leather trousers, the monochrome look was surprisingly chic but we just can’t get our heads around the bag.
Genius or gick? Somehow we don’t think we’ll be seeing many high street copies…
