More often than not, getting a sartorial blast from the past can be over-priced on these shores and it’s hard to find good quality pieces in Ireland. Vintage markets and kilo sales are a staple in many other European cities yet it seems many Irish retailers have yet to catch on.
But vintage loving ladies rejoice! If you’re looking to bag a retro bargain, are prepared to roll-up your sleeves and have the energy for a good aul rummage head to the Shutterbug Vintage kilo sale in Kilkenny this Saturday.
Simply fill a bag, get it weighed and you’ll be charged €20 for every kilo. Plus, that’s not all! There will also be a Folkster pop-up shop on site featuring accessory brands K Kajoux and Ivory Jar to name but a few. And if you still have any energy left after the shopathon and want to give your purchases an outing, 90s cover band Smash Hits will take to the floor from 11pm. Sold!
It seems Kilkenny is fast becoming Ireland’s fashion capital and is giving bigger cities a run for their money. Fashion Editor Naoimh had a blast checking out the style there recently and couldn’t praise the city’s sartorial offerings enough!
