A Tiara Fit For A Princess – Kate Stuns At White Tie Event

A real-life princess

Cathy Donohue

Kate Middleton attended a white tie diplomatic reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace last night, wearing a stunning tiara.

The Duchess of Cambridge was last pictured wearing a tiara at her wedding to Prince William in April 2011, when she wore the Cartier halo tiara.

Tradition dictates that the proper dress code for state banquets requires a tiara and Kate looked every inch the royal princess.

Kensington Palace confirmed last night that the royal accessory had belonged to Princess Margaret.

It is a particularly delicate diamond piece with fanned motifs crowned by floating diamond arches and studded with two pearls at the base and a central top pearl.

William and Kate make a stunning couple

To show off the exquisite tiara Kate wore her hair in a stunning half-up, half-down style and her gown was by Alexander McQueen.

The event was formally titled the Diplomatic Christmas Reception at Buckingham Palace, it is an annual engagement honouring the 172 foreign missions currently accredited to the Court of St. James’s in London.

Every year the Queen holds a reception in their honour and members of the royal family meet and greet each guest.
