There’s been a lot of speculation in recent weeks about the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie and just who will be cast as leading man kinky Christian Grey. But has the author’s husband accidentally let the cat out of the bag on this one?
According to reports, Niall Leonard, the husband of Fifty Shades author E.L James, the last thing he heard was that Ryan Gosling is set to take up the part of the raunchy billionaire who seduces college student Anastasia Steele in the books.
Niall also spoke out about the character of Christian Grey and has denied that the character is based on himself.
“I’m glad I’m not him because he’s actually damaged,” said Niall, speaking recently.
“I wouldn’t have liked to go through what he went through,” he added.

Not only has it overtaken books like The Da Vinci Code and Harry Potter apparently, it’s even more popular than Twilight (which is pretty hard to believe given the buzz that surrounded the vampire series when it first came out, in fairness).
However, surely it must be a bit awkward reading about the saucy fantasies that your other half is having when you’re not around?
“Everybody has got fantasy figures and daydreams. Everybody,” said Niall, speaking to The Times magazine.
“Anybody who hasn’t got any fantasy or imagination – I would pity them, really. If people are stupid enough to mix up a fantasy with reality…” he added.
