A young Irish tourist has tragically passed away after drowning in his holiday apartment swimming pool in Spain.
The 21-year-old had travelled to Spain with fifteen others, including his parents and relatives as well as other friends.
It is understood that he died by drowning after falling into the swimming pool at the Costa del Sol resort of Torremolinos.
According to the Irish Independent, a hotel worker is thought to have pulled him out of the water after diving in after him.
Paramedics attended him at the scene but were unable to save him.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it was provided consular assistance to the family of the deceased.
