Met Éireann has issued a weather warning for tonight, with thick fog due to descend across the country.
The national forecaster has advised that a Status Orange warning is now in place and will continue from 8pm this evening to 12noon tomorrow.
Motorists have been warned that the conditions will lead to greatly reduced visibility and poor driving conditions.
The fog is expected to dissipate throughout the day tomorrow.
