At 2:45 a.m this morning, the Antonov An-225 Mriya aircraft landed at Shannon Airport.
People have been flocking to Clare all day to get a glimpse of the 32 wheeled, six engine plane.
Shannon has a 3.2 km runway and is the only airport in Ireland that can accommodate an aircraft of this size.
Take-off time is scheduled for 10pm this evening as the crew have had time to rest and refuel.

Any suggestions on the best place to see #Antonov225 take off tonight? Should I go into Airport or find a viewing spot outside? #antonovSNN — Rachel Walsh (@walshr) April 12, 2015
