Woman arrested for stealing 3 chips

An extreme punishment..

We’d all be in jail if this happened in Ireland.

We’ve all done it. We’ve spent the night in Coppers, stumbled into McDonald’s and ordered food, but while we’re waiting we might be tempted to rob a few chips from a strangers tray.

We’re not saying we’ve done it a lot, but there’s definitely been more than one occurrence.

While it might be tempting its probably not worth the court appearance.

Earlier this month, a drunk woman in Washington DC took picks the wrong person to steal chips from, according to FOX.

A police officer was eating dinner in Italian Kitchen on U when the drunk woman sat down next to him to chat and took a french fry from his plate.

She then took a second chip and the officer told her to stop: “I then politely asked [her] to not do that again because I paid for that food and she was stealing from me and she could be arrested for theft of my food,” the officer wrote in the police report.

But she cheekily went for one for chip.

The third fry was the final straw, and the officer then arrested her.

She now faces second-degree theft when she goes before the judge.

Be careful next time you’re feeling pecking in McDonalds at 3am!
