If you ever felt like having a midnight feast and snacking on a tuck box á la Malory Towers, well now is your chance as a boarding school in Co Westmeath has gone up for sale.
Our Lady’s Bower boarding school in Athlone is up for sale this week with a price tag of €650,000. The boarding school closed last June due to a drop in the number of boarders. The seven acre site is just one kilometre outside of Athlone town and has been home to boarders for 125 years.
The school is now being marketed to sell with many suggesting that it should be turned into a hotel or used as student accommodation – and although these are great ideas, we just think it would be amazing to channel your inner teenage self and hold a massive midnight feast there!
The secondary school which accepts day students will not be affected by the sale.
