A yellow weather warning has been issued.
Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry are all expected to be affected today.
The weather warning was issued from 10am this morning and will last until 6pm, although Donegal is expected to be affected until 9pm.

Road Safety Authority also urged motorists in counties along the Atlantic seaboard to be cautious.

They advised drivers to be aware of objects being blown on the road, loss of control by strong cross winds and to be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians.
The rest of the weekend is expected to improve with Saturday being bright and dry and Sunday remaining mostly dry with a chance of heavy rain.
