Take care on the roads.
Met Éireann issued a status yellow low temperature warning for large parts of Ireland last night, as temperatures plunged to as low as -6.
All of Munster, as well as Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow and Offaly were served the notice of the warning, with minimum air temperatures of -3 or -4 expected in Munster and south Leinster and temperatures as low as -6 possible in rural areas.
The warning is valid until 9am but care will be needed right throughout the morning as patches of frost and ice could linger in sheltered areas making driving conditions hazardous.
Make sure your window is fully defrosted to ensure you have full visability while driving.
Dry cold & calm today, severe frost across the S&E where it will remain coldest. Good sunshine gen but again cloudier in the NW. Highs 5-10C
