Two young Ed Sheeran fans have been left seriously injured after separate accidents ahead of one of his shows in Cork.

Both of the accidents are said to have happened at different locations on Saturday evening, the second of Ed’s three nights at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

According to the Irish Independent, a 17-year-old girl was left with possibly life-changing injuries after falling into a disused quarry.

The publication reports that she was apparently trying to find a shortcut to the show when it happened.

She suffered back injuries in the fall, and remains in critical – but stable – condition in Cork University Hospital.

A second and unrelated accident happened when a young woman in her 20s broke both her legs falls from a two-storey building.

She had reportedly climbed on top of a building in the marina area of Cork harbour in an effort to listen to the Ed Sheeran show.

The building is said to be a short distance from the stadium.

The woman is reported to have accidentally slipped from the roof and fractured both her legs upon landing.

Gardaí were on patrol of the area at the time and managed to get medical help to her shortly.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to the Cork University Hospital by ambulance.
