There are delays of up to 45 minutes this morning for rail services in both directions to Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Irish Rail has stated that the delays have been caused by a ‘mechanical fault on on-track machine’.

In a statement on site they added: “The on-track machine has been cleared from one line, and services are back moving, but are subject to up to 45 minute delays at present.”

Meanwhile, Portlaoise commuter services are operating as normal.
