Traffic officers in the Philippines have reportedly been asked to wear adult diapers next week during the visit of Pope Francis to the country.

According to reports, Francis Tolentino of the Metro Manila Development Authority stated that over 2,000 traffic officers, along with those involved with crowd control, will be using the nappies so that they can stay at their posts throughout the day.

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people are expected to attend the papal tour next week.

“We will be giving them these diapers because we don’t know when the crowds may rush in,” Mr. Carlos of the Authority stated.

Mr. Tolentino added that the adult diapers will be given a trial run during the annual procession of the Black Nazarene on Friday.

The visit is expected to attract millions with an early evening Mass planned for January 18th.

It has been reported that the national police will not be following their example.
