This Lovely Story From Cork Shows The True Spirit Of Christmas

Fair play to all involved!

The spirit of Christmas is definitely alive in Cork this week, with four homeless children set for a lovely surprise on the big day.

Aisling Walsh from Carraigaline arrived home from Australia last Friday with five of this year’s most sought-after gift, the Frozen Snow Glow Elsa doll, which she generously donated to Cork 96FM’s Opinion Line for a live auction in aid of Cork Simon.

The auction attracted major attention over 24hours, with over €4,000 raised thanks to bids from local businesspeople including Geraldine O’Neill of Glanmire, Pat Phelan, CEO of Trustev and Dan Kiely, CEO of Voxpro.

Pat was inspired to get involved after sitting next to Aisling on a plane from Manchester and revealed that the dolls almost never made it to the Rebel County after their luggage went missing!

It’s alls well that ends well though, with Dan and Pat deciding to give the dolls to Santa, who has identified four very deserving young girls in Cork homeless services who will be playing with Elsa on Christmas morning.
