The general consensus is that she is still our legend.
Katie Taylor lost out on an Olympic medal today after being beaten by Finland’s Mira Potkonen in the last-eight of the women’s 60kg division.
They were tied on points and it went to the judges who made the final decision and chose Mira as the winner of the fight.
Four years ago Katie won the gold medal in this division and was understandably gutted to have missed out the chance to take the title once again. She spoke to RTÉ Sport just after the fight and was visibly heartbroken.
Katie, you’ve still done us so proud. https://t.co/M8NM6X5Tue
