Star Wars fan Daniel Fleetwood has passed away this week at the age of 32.

Daniel made headlines last week after Disney and Lucasfilm granted his wish to see the latest instalment of the movie, The Force Awakens, before he died.

The 32-year-old had previously been diagnosed with a terminal cancer known as spindle cell sarcoma.

In July, doctors told him that he had just two months to live and he told People Magazine that he didn’t think he was going to last until the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18th.

His wish was granted last week after a social media campaign – #ForceForDaniel – was kicked off by friends and family and it resulted in director JJ Abrams along with Lucasfilm and Disney stepping in to show him an uncut version of the film at his house.

Unfortunately, Daniel passed away on Tuesday of this week and his wife Ashley took to Facebook to share the sad news.

“Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end,” she wrote. “He is now one with God and with the force.

“He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero.”

“Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together.”
