Pink Moon 2019 is happening tonight and here’s how you can see it

Pink Moon 2019 is happening tonight and here’s how you can see it.

The internet is abuzz with people chatting about the pink moon that’s due to take place later today.

Reports say that the ‘pink’ moon will appear on Friday 19 April and of course, it will be more visible when dusk falls.

That said, the name is a little misleading for the moon itself won’t actually be pink for the name is derived from a pink flower.

Pink moon received its name after people noticed it was similar to a type of moss called “pink moss” that is common in America and Canada during spring.

However, it’s also called the Egg Moon, Sprouting Grass Moon and Fish Moon…mad, we know.

Tonight’s moon should be noticeably larger than usual though for it is now three days past ‘perigee’, the point in the moon’s orbit where it is closest to the earth.

Nonetheless, people are pretty excited about the pink moon and have been sharing their thoughts on social media.
