A man in his late-sixties has been arrested after he rammed his car into the gates of Trinity College Dublin this morning.
The 68-year-old man drove through the open college gates at 6.30am, which were open to traffic at the time, and proceeded onto the campus.
“On exiting the college grounds the closed college gates were damaged,” Gardaí said – a number of cars were also damaged.

The man then drove up Dawson Street where a number of other cars were damaged before being stopped and arrested by Gardaí.
He is currently being held at Store Street Garda Station.
