Yes, this is unfortunately real.
An Indonesian sportswear company decided to include some pretty sexist instructions on their clothing labels.
As well as guiding owners of their clothing to wash their shirts in a 50 degree wash, the instructions also include the line:
‘Give It To Your Woman. It’s Her Job.’
The unbelievable instruction was included on Indonesian Super League side Pusamania Borneo as part of their latest kit.
Following an online backlash on Twitter yesterday (where most people were celebrating International Women’s Day) the company have since apologised, saying they meant no offence.
In a message posted to their own Twitter page, the Salvo Sports said:
“The message is simply, instead of washing it in the wrong way, you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable.
“There is no intention to humiliate women. In contrast [we want to tell the men] learn from women how to take care of clothes.”
It really is a case of seeing is believing… ’cause otherwise we really wouldn’t.
