One man has died and two more people were injured after a stabbing incident in Dundalk this morning.
The incident occurred just before 9am on January 3, 2018 on Avenue Road.
The man, age unknown, was fatally attacked and pronounced dead at the scene.
A number of others were injured during the incident but a spokesperson for the gardaí said that the extent of their injuries are unknown at present.
One man has been arrested following the incident. He is currently detained in Dundalk Garda Station.
Three scenes are being preserved for technical examination at the moment, at Avenue Road, Inner Relief Road and Seatown.

“Gardaí are investigating a stabbing incident in Dundalk Co Louth shortly before 9am this morning, 3rd January 2018.
“A man (age unknown) has been pronounced dead at the scene. A number of other people have also been injured in this incident but their injuries are unknown at present.
“One man has been arrested and is currently detained in Dundalk Garda Station. No further details are available at present.
“There are currently three scenes preserved for technical examination, Avenue Road, Inner Relief Road and Seatown.
