One talented young American guy is making waves in Ireland at the moment all thanks to his weird and wonderful collection of Beanie Babies.
Nicholas Walsh has been creating some wonderfully weird and unique collectables and gifts for the last number of months, and has gained a massive following in Ireland.
“Growing up, I had a giant and expensive collection of Beanie Babies,” the LA-based entrepreneur explained. “I was planning on retiring based off their ‘worth’!” he laughed adding that he had even paid up to $98 for a Princess Diana bear.
“Like millions of people, I was left with a heap of useless beanies once the bubble burst and that’s really where the whole idea came from!”

“I thought of the idea of turning them into faux taxidermy trophy mounts when I came across a beanie baby at a local LA flea market,” Nick explained. “I suddenly saw them in a whole new light! I quickly made a few to geekishly show off on Instagram and immediately, people were asking me for one.
“My mom shipped me my personal collection and I got to work and all of a sudden I started getting orders in from all over the world! Beanie babies are proving to be a massive hit in Ireland especially – it’s crazy!
“It’s been almost therapeutic,” he continued. “After years of making sure they were in mint condition, now I’m here slicing and dicing them (don’t worry, it’s a very humane process) – but I always keep the tag on!”
Nick is also expanding into the emoji t-shirt market, which are already flying off the rails.
