According to reports today, a murder investigation has been launched into Prince’s death amid fears he was overprescribed drugs.
Detectives involved in the investigation are concerned after prescription drugs were found at the singer’s Paisley Park property.
Minneapolis police have not yet ruled out a criminal homicide charge after his body was found in a lift at his home.
A police source spoke to The Daily Star: “A crack team have been assigned with learning minute by minute what Prince was doing during his final days. But the investigation will also look into his activities over the last two years”.
“Prince’s medical history is at the top of detectives’ list when it comes to the cause of his death” continued the source.
This new development comes after news emerged that Prince had worked 154 hours straight in the days leading up to his death.
Authorities are now said to be examining computers and mobile phones belonging to staff at Prince’s residence in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
