The woman’s body was discovered on Gardiner Street, at the Dorset Square apartments where she is said to have been stabbed. Those living in the apartments informed gardaí that they did not hear noise indicating any kind of disturbance.

According to RTÉ news, a man who was also at the scene has been taken to the Mater Hospital and is said to be suffering from serious injuries.

At present, the area has been sealed off as a forensic examination will need to take place. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
