Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings as stormy conditions are set to hit the country this evening.
The forecaster issued an orange status wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. This is in place until 6.00am tomorrow morning.
In these areas it will be extremely windy with average speeds between 65 and 80km/h and gusts of up to 130km/h in some places.
There is also a yellow status wind warning in place for Clare, Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Kildare, Limerick, Longford, Meath, Louth, Roscommon, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
Very windy conditions are expected in these parts with average speeds up to 60km/h and gusts over 90km/h (110km/h in exposed areas). This warning is valid until 2.00am tomorrow morning.
As well as strong winds, heavy showers are predicted with a risk of hail. Lowest temperatures will be around 3 to 6 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow will be cool and windy again with widespread showers and some sunny spells so, as always, take care if you’re out and about.
