Fab news on a Monday.
There’s no denying that the winter weather has well and truly arrived, with a definite chill in the air over the last number of days.
Of course, the rain is never far away either and Met Éireann has just issued a weather warning for the following four counties expected to get the worst of it: Galway, Kerry, Cork, and Mayo.
Here’s what the national forecaster has to say:
“30 to 50 mm of rain today, tonight and much of Tuesday with up to 70 mm possible in mountainous areas. This warning is for western parts of the relevant counties”.
The warning was put in place at 10am this morning and is expected to remain there until 6pm tomorrow evening.
However, there’s good news if you’re in the east of the country today as there’s dry weather with “some sunny spells” thrown in for good measure.
The highest temperatures forecast today are between 15 and 17 degrees and in addition to the rain, strong gusts of southeast winds are also predicted.
