The 18-year-old educational activist Malala Yousafzai has condemned Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for his controversial remarks about Muslims.

Speaking at an an event in Birmingham to commemorate the deaths of over 130 children in a Taliban-helmed shooting last year in Pakistan, Yousafzai decried Trump’s recent comments to the BBC:

“If your intention is to stop terrorism, do not try to blame the whole population of Muslims for it because it cannot stop terrorists…That’s really tragic that you hear these comments which are full of hatred, full of this ideology of being discriminative towards others.”
