Update 20:50pm: At least nine people have been killed and up to 50 injured, as suspected driver is arrested.
According to reports coming from Germany on Monday night, a lorry has crashed into shoppers at a Christmas market in Berlin, sparking fears of a terrorist attack.
However, a tragic accident has not been ruled out.
A number of local sources – the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and the Berliner Morgenpost – state that the truck crashed into the market close to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.
