The sweet treats first became ‘fashionable food’ thanks to Sex and the City, but we doubt even Carrie herself would have parted with this much cash for dessert.
Named ‘The Golden Phoenix’, the cupcake was the grand attraction at the opening of new boutique café Bloomsbury’s in The Dubai Mall.
Made using 23 Carat edible gold sheets, Italian chocolate and Ugandan vanilla beans, along with butter and flour (some things never sound exotic), orders for ‘The Golden Phoenix’ must be placed two days in advance.
