The haul has a street value of over €1m.
MDMA and heroin with a street value of €1.1m has been seized by Gardaí in the Clondalkin area of Dublin.
An update from An Garda Síochána revealed that four men were arrested on Wednesday as part of the seizure.
“As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region a planned operation was carried out in the Clondalkin area yesterday evening (30/11/2016) by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau,” revealed a statement from the Gardaí.
“During the operation Gardaí intercepted two cars and searched an apartment.
“Approximately 12 kgs of MDMA (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine) powder along with 3kgs of heroin was seized.
“Four males, ranging in age from 30s to 60s, were arrested as part of the investigation. They are currently detained at Clondalkin and Ronanstown Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
“They can be detained for up to 7 days.
“The combined street value of the controlled drugs seized is estimated at €1,100,000 (pending analysis).”
