Gardaí are this evening investigating a shooting which took place this evening in a North Dublin shopping centre car park.
The incident occurred at the Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas shortly before 6.30pm.
According to The Irish Times, the shots were fired in a targeted attack outside McDonalds.
The Sun reports that a bullet hit the car of a family and pierced a car seat in which a baby boy was seated.
The child was not hit and avoided injury.
Two cars reportedly sped away from the scene.
TD Noel Rock said:
“A Friday night at a shopping centre shows there is a clear seeping of gangland crime into the everyday lives of families.
“The fact that these shots narrowly missed a young child shows the real danger posed by these thugs.”
