UPDATE: According to reports this evening, two people have been killed in a shooting in Co Louth.
RTÉ reports that a Garda was shot after responding to a call about a domestic incident at a household in the village of Omeath, Co Louth.
Reports suggest that the civilian killed was a resident of the property where the incident took place.
A woman was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and she is believed to be in a serious condition.
The area has been sealed off and the state pathologist will attend the scene later this evening.
